I was just browsing through our user database today and was blown away by all the neat aliases that are showing up…. I’m seeing teams from GM, P&G, GE, Quest, Accenture, Cisco, 3M, WAMU, BP, and more – all signing cards within the last three hours! It’s exciting that GroupCard truly is taking over as the best way to send an office greeting card.
If you and your company team are interested in creating a special GroupCard template for your office, just email us at feedback@groupcard.com and we’d be happy to help set up somthing.
Reiko (our Product/Marketing rockstar) just found this cool writeup about GroupCard in Geek Sugar, a popular womans blog. The article is great, and i am just amazed by the followup comments about people using groupcard as a card for the office- I swear that none of us from GroupCard seeded those!
There’s no physical passing around, first of all — it’s an electronic pass-around that’s accomplished by just emailing the card to the people who need to sign it. You then send the e-card (who cherishes greeting cards from co-workers these days anyway?) to the recipient, and wish her well.”
We used this today at my job for one of our co workers that is going off to college and it’s GREAT. Thanks
I believe Elfster is also doing group birthday cards now, in addition to secret gift exchanges like Secret Santa.
I started work at my office last August so for my birthday this May my card was fabulous, filled with true sentiments about how I’d changed the office. Some people still appreciate real cards and letters instead of emails.
“Folks, I got your wonderful b’day card, I can’t believe that each of you took the time to write a couple of lines… even if it was a template I deeply thank you! you made me feel special. As per your app. this is one of the best features of facebook. You are great! I hope each of you gets the rewards you certainly deserve for a great job well done! and that these rewards start in your workplace and extend to your private lives. Thanks again.”

I didn’t expect her to pull out a camera for an inteview. After all, it was loud, dark, and Don’s tequila was strong (though this video may appear otherwise, I only had one.. i promise)
Here’s the piece:
Yeesh…i need to work on eye contact w/ the camera and those perplexed blank stares!
This week we quietly rolled out GroupCard “premium” – which is a subscription service that gives you a an awesome basket of upgrades, such as larger pictures, unlimited printable cards, and a bunch of other great stuff..
Jane Bryan-Jones (John’s Mother-in-Law) was our first eager customer, and walked through the process after dinner tonight. Since day one, Jane’s been a HUGE GroupCard supporter – her birthday card was the first card ever signed on “squidnote 3.0″ back in November of 2007.
Start a GroupCard for your teacher, and you may get a grade like this….
“OK, you did it!! I sat down and read my
GroupCard and started to silently weep – words cannot express the appreciation and gratitude I feel. You are amazing to have put this together with former and current families.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
xo, Toni”
It’s not too late to send that appreciation greeting to a teacher in your life… here’s our latest selection of free greetings from the class.
This week Facebook included GroupCard in it’s launch of the Verified App program.
This is a huge badge of honor – effectively recognizing GroupCard as a one of the top .05% (yes, that’s one in two thousand) applications on the whole platform.
Being verified is a great privledge. First, it means Facebook users can trust that GroupCard is a safe, transparent, and engaging service. Second, it lifts invite and notification limits, which has always been a problem for our power users.
All of us at GroupCard appreciate what the folks at Facebook did to make this happen. The team was detailed and patient in their review process. What better way to show our appreciation then to send a little thankyou GroupCard to everyone at Facebook:
2,700 people signed a GroupCard for Gordon Campbell to urge him to fight bear hunting. The card was sponsored by the Humane Society of Canada. In typical Humane Society wit, the GroupCard was billed as a “mothers day card” – focused on sparing the lives of many mama bears who are hunted.
As always, it’s an honor to work with the Humane Society and help them do more to raise awareness around their cause.
…But i just spotted an awesome, very big GroupCard from a class to their school principal for “school principal day”…
It really is awesome to see entire school groups taking the time to tell their principal thankyou with a greeting from GroupCard.
If you are at school now, or have kids – i urge you to Run, don’t walk, to your nearest web browser and start a card for your principal today! Imagine the good grades you may get!
I just got this email from a GroupCard user named Danielle (AKA Truckerstrike 08):
“We started another online card for a truck driver from NY that was murdered over $7.00. He left behind a wife who was pregnant with twins and a 2 year old son. Someone has already sponsored it and we were very pleased with the last one for the truck driver with cancer that passed away March 30, 2009.”
As of today, Dahielle and over 60 supporters from the trucker community have added messages to the GroupCard for Jason’s wife, Hope, and his family.
All of us here at GroupCard send our thoughts to Hope and her family in this terrible time of shock and grief. We are so sad to hear this news, and we are honored that GroupCard can be a part of the healing process..
