The Group Card was a BIG SURPRISE for Rebecca. Before and during dinner she received some phone calls, all along asking “when she would hear from you”.

I mentioned 7 o’clock and she asked why seven. I told her it was a magical number. In no way did she understand what was to come.

The step by step process of receiving the card kept her in major suspense.

THE OUTCOME: AWESOME!!

WATCHING HER READING THE INDIVIDUAL NOTES WAS SUCH FUN. SHE COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT YOU HAD TAKEN THE TIME TO INDIVIDUALLY EMAIL FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DO THIS!.

WHAT A NEAT WAY OF ENDING OUR BIRTHDAY DINNER CELEBRATION…

CNN Hero of the Year is getting a GroupCard

Efren “Kuya Ef” Peñaflorida grew up threatened and harrassed by ganges in his school in Cavite City.    But by the time he was only 16 he created the Dynamic Teen Company – which now has over 10k members.  This year Efren was named CNN Hero of the Year for all he did as an advocate of Filipino out-of-school youth.

Today, I was proud to discover that Efren’s supporters have started a GroupCard Congratulations Card for him!  The card has been signed by  hundreds of admirers and thankful signers around the world.

I was just browsing through our user database today and was blown away by all the neat aliases that are showing up…. I’m seeing teams from GM, P&G, GE, Quest, Accenture, Cisco, 3M, WAMU, BP, and more – all signing cards within the last three hours!  It’s exciting that GroupCard truly is taking over as the best way to send an office greeting card.

A GroupCard for Canadian Premier Gordon Campbell

2,700 people signed a GroupCard for Gordon Campbell to urge him to fight bear hunting.  The card was sponsored by the Humane Society of Canada.  In typical Humane Society wit,  the GroupCard was billed as a “mothers day card” – focused on sparing the lives of many mama bears who are hunted.

As always, it’s an honor to work with the Humane Society and help them do more to raise awareness around their cause.

It really is awesome to see entire school groups taking the time to tell their principal thankyou with a greeting from GroupCard.

Trucker Community Signs a Heartfelt GroupCard for a Slain Comrade

I just got this email from a GroupCard user named Danielle (AKA Truckerstrike 08):

“We started another online card for a truck driver from NY that was murdered over $7.00. He left behind a wife who was pregnant with twins and a 2 year old son. Someone has already sponsored it and we were very pleased with the last one for the truck driver with cancer that passed away March 30, 2009.”

As of today, Dahielle and over 60 supporters from the trucker community have added messages to the GroupCard for Jason’s wife, Hope, and his family.

All of us here at GroupCard send our thoughts to Hope and her family in this terrible time of shock and grief. We are so sad to hear this news, and we are honored that GroupCard can be a part of the healing process..

It seems that everywhere i look on GroupCard i see an allusion to pets

1) The Humane Society card for Obama and his family is getting TONS of hits, over 6200 signers to date

2) Bob’s dog, Chester recently signed a card

3) Petsmart, the Major US retailer of pet supplies, now uses GroupCard.  Check out this cool comment from one of their
